My friends always have a special place in my heart. I do crazy stuff with them... We call ourselves the Team LG. Guess where we celebrated our first ever anniversary? BORACAY baby! :)
Our first ever outing together as a group was last May 9, 2011 at Isla Reta . We made our Boracay plans while we were literally floating in the sea... Honestly speaking I never really thought that we could make it happen... But as the famous tagline goes - "If there's a will... There's a way!"
We started collecting money for our funds after that every week. There were certain roles assigned for each person. Karla, Pokie, and Cindy went ticket hunting on the net. Our first attempt was a total fail because there were some delayed responses from a few members of the group. Everyone got a little disappointed.
God is indeed really good! After a few days or so... Another promo was available and this time around we were quicker than the speed of light! We got the tickets! All our efforts of saving up finally paid off.
We didn't really realize how time went by so fast...
The moth of May came too fast! The most awaited day finally came...
May 09, 2012
I spent the night at Hannah's house. I was afraid that I won't be able to wake up on time for our flight. It was also my first time to ride a plane again for about 10 years! So I felt like I would be a lost kid if I went alone. We didn't get to sleep at all! We stayed up late until it was finally time to go to the airport!
May 10, 2012
Francisco Bangoy International Airport - Davao
The happy & excited people!
Waiting just a little bit longer since our flight got delayed. Instead of 7:50 AM, our time of departure got moved to 8:10 AM.
Time to get on the plane!!!
The flight was pretty fast. Didn't get to sleep at all. We didn't sit beside each other since we checked-in late! Hahaha. Brought my anti-emetic drugs this time! Haha
Touch down Iloilo! :D
Upon arriving at Iloilo we rented a van because it was more convenient and faster compared to a bus ride. It wasn't that much big of a deal. Since we were all hungry we had to stop over a well known restaurant for tourists in Iloilo - Pengee's!
The place was recommended by the driver. Everyone was quite satisfied with their food! :)
After approximately 4-5 hours of travel we finally arrived at our next destination! Time to cross the sea!
We were offered a faster service to get to Boracay faster. Price is 50 Php higher than the usual pero okay na kasi comfy and mabilis! :D
It was such a struggle to get in! Hahaha! Parang secret passage lang! XD
Cindy and Karla - taking turns in picture taking.
After a few minutes we finally arrived at Boracay! First thing we did was to check-in at our hotel at Bamboo Beach Resort. We just had to drop our luggage there and change our outfits. Our room was just right for us! I don't think we had photos of it while it was still clean so... Just google them! :)
And so our Day 1 at the beautiful island of Boracay begun...
We strolled the shores from Station 3 down to station 1! Imagine how our feet felt afterwards! Haha.
Because we love the beach so much we had a quick swim before dinner time! Thanks to Cindy's underwater camera we were able to capture moments like this! :)
Our not so successful panorama takes!
After the quick swim it's finally time for some night strolling!
Did you know that little kids make these sand castles and Borcay sand art? They just ask for tips when you take a picture with their work. Those hallow hear-shaped sand actually has candles in it having that romantic feel but the camera didn't capture it! Haha
Help! I have been held hostage!
The highlight of my 1st night! We bumped into one of the best RnB singers in the country! Jay-R! :)
The Fire Dancers - one amazing night indeed. It's not my first time to see fire dancers but maaaaaan! I tell you! They're really good! The music, the moves, and just everything about them! The performance we witnessed was just at the shores. There was a basket infront of them and a lot of people were just putting money in it!
All of them were gay! Or at least I believe so... But they were really really good and very sexy too! (I'm pro-gay! Just so you know ;) I love them)
After the long strides along the shores our feet complained and thus leading us to Pats Creek Bar. Chill night! We had a few drinks and a lot of talking in between! some were very busy because everywhere is WiFi zone! Haha
Everyone got drained on the first day! We retired early that night to charge up for Day 2!
Day 2
Day 2 started out pretty great. Pokie and I were the lucky ones to avail the free breakfast from the hotel since they were only giving 2 free breakfast meals for our group! :)
Main agenda that morning was to get henna tattoos! A lot of tattoo artist to choose from. Their prices vary on the size and details of your chosen pattern. Had mine placed on my lower back.
Since I was wearing my very own DIY Fringe top I had to make ways for it not to touch the temporary tattoo while it's still drying up. Can't afford to damage my temporary mark of coolness! ;P
We were scheduled to go to Ariel's Point that day. We walked ourselves to where we should wait for our transportation. We were joining a group of people from different parts of the world. When we were instructed to get on board already... We expected the water to be on knee level but as you can see...
Definitely not knee level! It was such a struggle for me since I didn't know how to swim and some of us were carrying bags for our things! Haha. But that small boat was the one responsible for the belongings!
It took only a few minutes too get to our destination... We felt like we were friends even with the foreigners because one thing is common in all of us - we were all crazy! It was crazy fun paired with unlimited drinks that started on the boat!!! Yes... UNLIMITED!
As we arrived we had to gear up! Especially for persons who don't know how to swim... Best example - ME!
Life jacket's on!
I choose not to tell the height of the cliff I jumped off from... Yes dear readers! I went cliff diving! :D
Here it goes!!!
It took us a lot of time to jump off that cliff! Mind you! It's not that easy! I won't show you the other photos because they look hilarious. Haha. But I swear I jumped off... not once, not twice, but a couple of times! As you can see I was on the edge of glory! Haha
Foreigners were kind of used to it since they were jumping off as high as 15 feet! It was amazing! Everyone cheered for each other. Our groupie was very supportive especially with Hannah... Who I think consumed about half an hour contemplating whether to jump or not to jump! Haha. The people were all laughing and cheering until poof! She finally jumped off the cliff... If we can stand on water we could have given her a standing ovation!
While waiting for our turn for the Kayak we went snorkeling! Water was pretty deep! I wonder why I wasn't that scared. My happiness overcame my fear I guess!
Favorite part of the package is the buffet lunch! Everyone digs in! Their food was great! Everything was fresh and yummy!
Thank you to Ate April for this shot. Our own personal spot:
After eating, a lot more cliff diving occurred! Boys will be boys! they achieved higher levels than we did. My guts couldn't go that far! It was one of the most death defying activity I've ever done considering the fact that I don't know how to swim! Pokie and I finally got our hands on the kayak after awhile.
At the end of the day we met new friends and acquaintances and of course a lot more drinks on our way back to the main island...
Later that night we had our legit Bacardi night!
Agenda: Night Life!
We learned that Bacardi is served better without ice and just paired with Sprite.
With my BFFs... Cindy and Hannah!
Sharing some LG Lovin'
All sweaty after all the dancing! Epic bar - blockbuster! Too many people partying! Which is actually a good thing. Haha. We went bar hopping that night.
And in that moment, I swear we were infinite ∞
Day 3
The morning starts with Island Hopping!
Here are some of my favorite sights!
This one actually got featured on Failon Ngayon. I think we were lucky enough to see this before it got torn apart because of some legal issues. It was associated to the famous boxer Manny Pacquiao but he clarified during an interview that he does not own the resort.
The simplicity and beauty of nature...
Food vendor in the sea! He was selling fresh buko juice! There were a lot actually but this one's my favorite! This can be seen when you're snorkeling at Crocodile Island!
And of course our own personal favorite... The Puka beach! It was still not yet that developed but I think its already nice. Its a virgin island so everything you see is the pure beauty the Philippines! Of mother earth! :)
See how clear the waters are and how white the sand is?
After satisfying our eyes with such wonderful views its time to satisfy our mind and body - both ready for the much awaited highlight of the trip - WATER SPORTS!
First activity: Para-sailing!
Alzy and I bought waterproof cases for our valuables!
Safety first!
Up, up, and away!
At first I was really scared but after a minute or so it was very relaxing! The view was majestic! It felt like I was flying! Al and I were just talking about how everything was going so nicely.
I cannot explain my exact feeling for this. Let me put it this way... If I were to go back to Boracay... Para-sailing is definitely on top of my list! :)
After suspending for about 15 minutes on air it was time to take a dip!
2nd activity: Banana Boat
Getting ready. We're actually doing the wrong position here... Well, most of us. You're legs are supposedly pointed toward the front.
I forgot Kuya's name but he's one of the best! Multi tasking big time! He took all our photos and videos during the banana boat and para -sailing experience! He had to transfer to another group :|
3rd activity: Fly Fish
Since #1 Kuya had to transfer we were reffered to another one and this time it was so harsh!
Waiting for our turn...
As they say... Lady's first!
Glad I din't fall in any of the activities! But my nose hurts! Its like fighting for your life. Haha. No kidding... If I'll do para-sailing a million times all over again... My feeling towards Fly Fish is the exact opposite! Never again! Haha! Terrifying!
Say hello the boys that were so good... no one fell!
The epic kuyas who were too harsh on us!
Time to head back to the hotel! :)
The beautiful Boracay sunset!
Everyone got drained after everything that we've done for that day! We had to boost ourselves! Charge cells with food intake! We went for buffet that night... It was convenient for us since our hotel had one. Rested a little bit and to the table we go!
That night was also scheduled for night stroll and the pasalubong hunt!
We all went our separate ways and searched for stuff everywhere. Hannah and I ended up strolling together and we all just met up with the others at Starbucks! :)
No bias at all... I just have to say this Starbucks Abreeza Davao is still the best for us!
I guess everyone was exhausted and we all retired early that night because we were bound for Iloilo the following day... Well, except for Cindy and JB who still went partying that night! They were so hyper! All thanks to Sting!
Day 4
The last day at Boracay. It was meant for last minute panic buying!
We just had to try Beach Hut Bar since you can only find it there!
Totally worth it guys! It is a must that you grab one of these before leaving the island. I highly recommend their best-sellers! You can never go wrong with best-sellers. Although, everything seems to taste absolutely mouthwatering.
As we were all so happy with our drinks the rain started to pour... Hard. We had no choice but to walk and go back to the hotel before the check out time! And the result?
All wet!
Everyone got all hyped up when we almost didn't make it for our check out time! Haha. As if we had our adrenaline rush!
Before we know it it was already time to bid goodbye to Boracay.
After a long trip back to Iloilo... We already arrived at night time. Check in again at Urban Inn.
Our pretty room all green and cold!
Cindy and Karla knew some people there. I think they call him Shoti :)
Super late dinner at McDonald's!
After dinner I think it's already a protocol to have coffee! Shoti brought us to coffeebreak!
Choco Oreo Frappe and Cappuccino Dreams Brownies from CoffeeBreak.
Loving Iloilo! Good food and drinks at very low prices! :D
We were all pretty amazed how much cheaper their products are compared to some local coffee shops here in Davao.
And we called it a day...
Day 5
I was the one to wake up first and take a bath. I knew everyone was still sound asleep so I took the advantage! Haha. No bathroom competitors! :D
We were fetched by the same service van again...
We weren't early for our flight but we weren't late too... just right! Finally...
Home bound.
This was the first time that I traveled with friends. It was an amazing experience. I really do a lot of crazy stuff when I'm with them! I'm not even complaining. When I'm with them YOLO is always applicable! I'm pretty sure I didn't waste my youth.
The question was... Where did my heart go?
Well, I left it in Boracay <3
Traveling was once a frustration and now it's slowly becoming a reality.
Until the next trip!
xo
