Wild Water Rafting

Since the day we purchased our PSD discount coupons we planned on availing almost everything! Quite impossible because of the conflict of schedules. But the wheels have turned... on the 27th day of October we finally found the perfect timing for our escapade.

Everyone was excited for the upcoming adventure. We conducted a single meeting for this. Haha! I had a hard time to come up with the money for this but thank God for the discount coupons and the Team LG trust fund. I made it! :)
At Cindy's crib... Planning Phase :)

Since the itinerary for the event was pre-made we had nothing left to do but show up and gear up.
At Crocodile Park waiting :)

Saw this eagle. Just chillin'
Time to register!
Time for orientation! They will show a 5 minute video about the whole rafting experience. It will show the things you should expect to happen.
The guides gave us some important pointers for the whole adventure and you just have to trust these guys because they do what they do best. They're pros! :)

Adventure Tip: You should wear something dark. Expect your clothes to get wet and dirty. Don't bring a lot of valuables since you can't bring all of them while rafting. There are lockers provided at their office.

Time to gear up!

The guides will select the perfect life vest and helmet for you. No need to worry! Make sure to wear appropriate and comfortable clothing. Wear your aqua shoes or something that won't fall off easily. As for us, we didn't wear any footwear during the rafting, more comfortable and less worries.

I had my glasses customized. Haha! They had to tie a string to it and taped it to secure it. I can't "not wear" them because I wouldn't see a thing if I did which was kinda scary considering this as a extreme sport. So, yea! You can still go even if you have glasses. Its better than wearing contacts.

We're all set. Time to travel to put in area which was one hour away from Crocodile Park
[L-R JB, Cindy, Karla, Me, Alzy, Tito Alex]
With our other companions from Manila
Upon arriving at the put in area... We were taught some techniques on how to paddle and what to do in case someone falls off raft.
With our guide. We call him Annyeong because he looks Korean! He's also a very good and fun guide!
My partner Cindy trying to lift me. It's part of the drill!

And now... time for the actual rafting! Let's get it on! :D
This is what we do when we accomplish something. The guide says "High Five!" And everyone will raise the paddles and respond: LG!
Accomplished first rapid? :D

Put your hands up!
Resting for awhile. Arms were so worked out I felt like I was in the gym trying to develop my arm muscles.

I think this was the highlight of our whole rafting experience! Everyone fell off except me, Tito Alex and Annyeong. The rest of the gang lost their grip! They describe it as a near death experience. A feeling of impending doom! Haha. All the techniques taught were definitely of use. We all have bruises all over our body but I guess they're nothing serious. The risk you have to take! :D

Time for Lunch!

Packed lunch was served! We ate at the river bank.
Jump shot!
Hungry people in the house! :D

Prior to rafting we were already asked if there were food restrictions so that they can do something about the food. We had chicken, egg, pork, rice, and of course bottled water and juice...

Back to rafting!
We found thhe fountain of youth! Haha. It was like a mini cave and water was dripping from up above. The guide told us that it was safe to drink. We all drank. Tastes like water. LOL! :D

Getting ready for another battle!

Drifting! Somewhere down the river. When its safe to drift... you drift! We had to enjoy the water anyway. It''s a wonderful feeling. Haha :)
Tito Alex got drifted away. A guide from another raft said... "Rapids ahead!" We all thought it was a joke since he was such a joker and for all we know... He was actually telling the truth. Mission: Save Tito Alex was a success though. Adrenaline rush! Haha XD

Posing like pros!

As we paddled our way back... As the guide would say... the most painful easy paddle. The rafting was finally over!

Photo bomb alert!
Success! We survived! :D

Couldn't be any prouder that we all survived. I didn't fall. Not even once. Yay me! :)
Only a few Davaoñeos try the water rafting here. Its mostly the tourists and foreigners who come. Well, I think we should all try this! Its super fun! If you're an adventure seeker... you should try this out.

A worthwhile experience. Living life to the fullest! Life is indeed here... in Davao!
