REVIEW: FAST HAIR STRAIGHTENER

[CTO: First two photos not mine.]

I've been so intrigued when I saw videos of girls that were using this hair straightener that was said to have promising results. I definitely thought I needed one more than wanting it, because my hair is just a total mess. Besides it's a cheaper alternative compared to getting my hair rebonded at the salon. So, to cut it short... I ended up buying one online.
I got mine from @diybeautyshop on instagram and it came with a free rainbow brush. (FYI this is not a sponsored post.)

I don't use it that often since I don't have time and I honestly don't know how to use it by myself. I would need assistance and it's time consuming... Well for me. I'm one lazy lady. I decided to try it with my sister who has curlier hair than me.
Normal hair. Yes, her hair was blue that time.

After using the comb

It does make a difference but the straightness does not look natural. I think it varies to different kinds of hair.

It does fairly well for its price. Although I think they need more product improvement. This comb should not be used by kids unsupervised since it turns hot and we can't afford burns even if it has temperature control. It's better if you comb your hair well before using it since the red ball like things tend to detach itself when your hair gets tangled up and it sorts of protect your scalp from getting burned. Mine already lost one and I don't want loosing anymore.
It comes with an instruction card and it's pretty much easy to use compared to other hair straighteners.

After using it I would still prefer going to the salon for a long term fix since this fast hair straightener is only for short term. My hair returns to its original state after a couple of hours. But yes, it does it job. It straightens hair.

I need more practice using it.

SAGUL BISTRO

I heard a lot of good reviews of this place and I thought I must definitely try it for myself. And when I did, they did not disappoint. The place had a rustic feel to it that made it warm and cozy. I loved how it had a concept unlike other restaurants in the city. Service was fast and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Everything's good, although I suggest they put something to make place more enclosed. Since it's an open space and located along the road, many vehicles pass through and the dust and smoke comes inside easily. The parking space is also limited. I guess they didn't expect the flooding customers since the place is somewhat small considering the number of people who want to dine there. The second time we went there we had to wait for a vacant table. I guess its worth the wait. Good food.

We only tried out their best sellers (the gambas, buffalo wings and the ribs - not in photo) and I have yet to try different meals on their menu. But so far... so good. Two thumbs up for them!

Nothing extremely out of  the ordinary but overall I can say its one of my new favorite dining places now here in Kidapawan.

P.S.:
Not sure about their store hours but I'm guessing 10 am to 10 pm.

Located at Labastida Street Kidapawan City.

Just like me, you should try it and judge it for yourself :)

Lichtenstein

I'm always up late watching YouTube videos. I came across a comic art make up tutorial. I thought, this would be fun especially for a Halloween night. Yesterday, I was out of town doing some errands and when I got home I was too tired to pursue my plans. So, I just slept. And when I woke up this morning I just implemented my plans. I was up before anyone else and started my preparations. I did not have the leisure to bathe myself before doing so because I know I'd bathe again after all the messy stuff that was about to happen. (Sounds defensive ei? But there's some truth to that.)

What I used to achieve my make up look

Sleek Eyeshadow Palette
Sansan waterproof eyeliner - Black
L.A. Colors jumbo eye pencel - Sea Shells
Wet N Wild megalast lipstick - Red Velvet
e.l.f. lipstick - Fearless
ETUDE HOUSE BB Cream - Blooming Fit

Brushes used:
Peniel Cosmetics
Artist Studio
KCosmetics Bamboo set

So, what I did first was to apply the BB cream as my base.  Then proceeded with my brows using a black eyeshadow to fill it up and make it look bold and a little bit thicker. Then I created the lines on my nose and the rest of the face to make the drawing illusion. I outlined my lips with black eyeshadow before putting on the red lipstick but I suggest to do the opposite. I used the jumbo eye pencil in the shade of sea shells to make the lip shine illusion. I exaggerated the eyeliner and made false lashes and applied generous mascara on my lashes. I then drew the red dots all over my face down to the neck using the tip of the brush, not the ones with the hair... The other end. My sister helped me do this since I was almost legally blind doing my make up without my glasses on and I'm not yet allowed to use contacts.

I borrowed a wig for the fake hair color. Then pop! There goes my selfie game.

EDEN

I've been longing to visit Eden for the longest time. Lately, I've seen photos of people I know who went there. My time came... Just a few days ago. All thanks to the long weekend we had! Cornballs and his family invited me to tag along with them. I was so hyped because it was going to be a first for me.

Road trip to Eden started at 6 AM. I give credits to Google Maps for delivering us. Haha. When were getting nearer we turned off  the AC and opened the windows to feel and breath the fresh air. It made me happy. We arrived late for the reservations for the shuttle tour. It was already full. We didn't bother to call since the website said first come first serve. The next available tour was scheduled at 3 PM which was kinda late already. So we decided to stroll on our own. We were given maps. The temperature of the place made me happy. It was just right.

Since it was a holiday there were a lot of different groups going on tour. Foreigners, senior citizens, students, and other tourists. We decided to get on with the adventure and went to the rides. We signed up for the Skycycle and Sky Swing. I really thought that the sky cycle was just like ziplining. I was wrong. It made me extra nervous. I was having trouble with my butt. I think their cycle's seat was a bit small! When I rode it and started pedaling I though I would slip out of it any moment. The cables were bouncing and I was going slow and it felt like forever to reach the other end! Hahaha. It was completely safe though. Well, at least I think it is. When we were near the end they took pictures of us and they'd say, "NO HANDs!" So that implies letting go of the handles. I just couldn't do it. I chickened out.

Ride after ride. We went straight to the sky swing. Signed another waiver and put on different set of protective gears. We were oriented on things to do. Just looking at the height of it my knees got weak. I was about to back out but you know... YOLO! Haha. We were set 95 meters high (If I'm not mistaken.) and on the second whistle we were released. It felt nuts! It was terrifying. Haha. It was worth it though. Epic ride.

After the YOLO-ing we went back to get some snacks. Then we looked for the butterfly garden but it started to rain. Cornballs and I went for it anyway. After a short stroll we ended our short trip and went to the city.

We're definitely going back for the tour.

Cafetiere

My weekends are usually spent at Davao. I always wanted to try new places to eat. Usually, I had to wait until 10 or 11 am before establishments open. So, I'm always having brunch whenever I'm here. This time around my sister introduced me to a new place - Cafetiere. Residencia del Marina Business Center at Jacinto Street, near Ateneo de Davao. It wasn't our first choice because I wanted to eat Gyudon from a Japanese resto that was just a few blocks away too.

Since we were already at Jacinto street doing some of my sister's errands we decided to eat at Cafetiere. The place seemed nice from the outside. When I got inside it was very pleasant. I loved the ambiance. They accommodates us even if we were a few minutes early from the opening hours of the store. They made us comfortable and took our orders so that it would be served once they were ready to open.
As for wifi... Nope, there's none. But one of the posts on their walls said (If I remembered correctly), "We don't have wifi but we're sure you'll make a good connection." Something like that. There were only a few people in. I like it that way though. My sister said it would be different if we went there during lunch time. So, I guess if you ask me when's the best time to visit the place it would be the first of hour upon opening of the store. Just to avoid a huge crowd.

Their food is affordable and delicious too. I have yet to try other recipes on their menu. Surely, I'd come back but for now. It's a double thumbs up for a first timer like me! :D

P.S.

Store hours:
Monday to Saturday
10:00 AM to 9:30 PM

UNFILTERED KALANGGAMAN ISLAND

The last time I was at Tacloban I purchased a fan with Kalanggaman Island as its design. I said I had to go there someday. And so I did! This year was my year!

NOTE: Photos posted are all mine. Please give credits if used. These are all raw photos from my phone's camera (Zenfone 5)

It took us a few hours to get to Palompon, Leyte from Tacloban City. It was everybody's first time. Luckily everything went smoothly. A local said to find the yellow house where we should be paying for our boat. It was easy to find. The hard part was crossing the sea to get there. Our first boat experienced some trouble so we had to wait for back up.
It took more or less an hour to actually get to the island. The view during the boat ride was breathtaking and there were a lot of dolphins visible. Quite entertaining!
 Getting closer
When we arrived there was already a group of Korean people taking pictures. We found out that the island was all ours overnight since the Koreans were going home that same day.
This was the only remaining structure left standing after typhoon Yolanda hit Leyte.
They said it's called Kalanggaman because the island's shape is like of a birds silhouette but there were also many red ants there so it got me a little bit confused.
I was so ready to release the stress.
Since the island was small it was easy to walk around it.
Later that afternoon we went to the sand bar.
Good thing I had sunnies with me. Sun was extra bright and warm that day.
Shell hunting. We weren't allowed to take them home though.
There were no overnight cottages available so if you want to spend the night here better bring a sturdy tent. The wind was very strong that night also started raining.
Had to wear glasses to appreciate the view.
Remember the Koreans I was talking about? They wrote this down and I have no idea what it means.
So this couple arrived and it turned out that the island wasn't entirely ours anymore. Haha. They were getting in the way of me trying to capture the cloud that shapes into a letter H. I hope you see it. It's quite small.
The beach turned red during sunset. It was amazing. It was enchanting to see the skies change colors every minute. It was pretty.
The following morning we saw the sand bar completely visible until its tail end.
So this is the edge... Swimming here is not allowed anymore because current is too strong.
We had to rush back after taking photos because the waters were beginning to meet and we had to jog our way back. A bit scary but it was fine.

It truly was an island life experience. There was no electricity, no water supply, no food vendors... But it was just the way I imagined it to be. I loved it. It was sweet serenity.

I'd say, "Wag maging dayuhan sa sariling bayan."
